This large kitchen was designed for an extention
to a house in Dulwich. Ian designed the layout considering the
shape of the room and to maximise on the large open space.
The bespoke cabinets and drawers are finished in a sleek sprayed
handeless design. The spaces between the drawers and the plinths
were painted in a contrasting darker colour to add interest. The
wide range of cabinets included corner cupboards angled under
the windows, a spice cupboard and full height pull out larder.
The worktops are a dark Honed Plomo Quartz Resin Stone with 50mm
mitred downstands. These were angled to reflect the shape of the
bay windows and house the undermounted double sink. The worktops
also sweep round to form a peninsula which provides a bar area
facing into the kitchen.
We supplied all the appliances for the client. The Miele eye
level oven, combination microwave and plate warmer are housed
together in tall cupboards. The Maytag side by side fridge freezer
on the opposite wall is flanked by additional storage in floor
to ceiling cabinets. The slab style extractor provides a focal
point and fits perfectly between the two pillars completed with
a Miele hob beneath.
A striking feature of the kitchen is the wide open shelves which
follow the line of the extractor and oven. These provide areas
for display and give the client the ability to change the look
of the room. The shelves have inset lights which illuminate this
area of the kitchen and give the space a different ambience in
the evening.
The finished kitchen is practical and stylish with a spacious
feel.
