This modern kitchen was designed for an extention
to a house in Herne Hill in collaboration with architects. The
kitchen has since been featured in living etc magazine Feb 07
issue. The neutral colour pallet and clean lines give this kitchen
understated style.
The run of units both under the sky light and behind the Chinese
cabinet have a spray painted finish colour matched to Dulux Heron.
The contrasting gaps between the draws were designed to draw the
eye and to create a unique feature along the run of units. The
appliances were sourced and supplied by the client.
The client chose worktops in Italian Verdie Ardesie green limestone
with fossils. These look perfect against the pale colours and
balance the dark plinths at the bottom of the units. The worktop
opposite was bespoke made in stainless steel with an integral
recessed double sink and splashback.
As part of the kitchen specification Ian also designed and made
the bespoke free standing Chinese cabinet. It is constructed of
Pippy Oak Veneer which has a beautiful symmetrical grain. The
design also provided housing for the fridge/freezer and useful
open shelving for display purposes. We also sourced the simple
small handles finished in bronze.
